 Wedding Verses

Welcome to Wedding Verses which brings you free, short, cute, funny, Christian, religious

The path that leads to happiness is so narrow
that two cannot walk on it
unless they have become one.

Side by side,
Rarely apart
Hand in hand,
Heart to heart.

Henceforth there shall be such a oneness between you,
that when one weeps, the other will taste salt.

Two souls with but a single thought,
Two hearts that beat as one.

Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.

Khalil Gibran

You're a very special couple
You makes the perfect pair
This brings a wish for happiness
In the future you will share.

Wedding Verses

Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter for the other.
Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth for the other.
Now there is no more loneliness, for each of you will be companion for the other.
Now you are two persons, but there is only one life before you.
Go now to your dwelling place to begin the days of your life together.
May your days together be good and long upon the earth.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.

The Bible 1 Corinthians 13. 4-8

When Adam was lonely,
God created for him, not ten friends,
but one wife.

A Wedding Day Toast

Eat, drink and be married

Let the magic begin.

Wedding Verses

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you;
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

May you have warm words on a cold evening,
A full moon on a dark night,
And the road downhill all the way to your door.

Irish blessing

Wedding Verses

May you cherish these moments
For all of your life
As you step out together
As man and wife.
May the vows that you've taken
Remain true and strong
As you start on life's highway
And journey along.

Wedding Quotes

Of all the joys of a long happy life,
there's none so precious as the love
between husband and wife.

Some things are simply meant to be,
like finding your soul mate, your heart's destiny.

The beginning of a beautiful forever!

The path to happiness is so narrow
that two cannot walk on it unless they become one.

When two hearts unite,
The road is short, the burden is light.

Happiness is being married to your best friend.

It doesn't matter where you go in life, or what you do,
or how much you have, it's who you have beside you.

Love begins in a moment, grows over time, and lasts for eternity.

Marriage is choosing someone again and again to love and to cherish with each new dawn.

Marriage is friendship's highest ideal.

Marriage is love personified. Unknown

Marriage joins two hands to make one heart.

Gravity cannot be held responsible for people falling in love.
Albert Einstein

Wedding Verses

Life with you has been so nice
I'll marry you, not once, but twice

A Good Wedding Cake.

1lb butter of youth.
4lbs of love.
1lb of good looks,
1lb of sweet temper.
3lb of self forgetfulness.
1lb of pounded wit.
1lb of blindness of faults.
1lb of good humour.
1 tablespoon of sweet argument.
1 pint of rippling laughter.
1 wine glass of common sense.
1oz of modesty.

This invites you to witness
(Name and Name) say ''I Do''
If you wish to give something
Here's a clue for you
Be it kettle or toaster,
They do have the lot
So rather than give them
Something they've got...
Larger items are needed
And on these they must spend
So cash is appreciated,
Hope this doesn't offend

As husband and wife
You're on the threshold
Of a wonderful life

Wedding Verses

Never go to sleep
On an argument
Just get used to
Going without sleep
For 2 or  3 weeks at a time

From one spouse to another

I will not love you for the rest of your life...
but for the rest of mine.
Loving you is a wonderful way to spend a lifetime!

It's simple...I love you with all my heart!
Knowing you'll be in all my tomorrows,
Makes my today so wonderful!

Let our love be like an arch
two weaknesses learning together to form one strength.

Life is a journey, and I'm so glad we're traveling together!

Dance through life with me - the best is yet to be.

Wedding Verses

From long ago and far away
Love brought us to our wedding day!

Together is a wonderful place to be.
Two lives - one never-ending love.
We may not have it all together,
But together we have it all.

The woman cries before the wedding and the man after.
Polish Proverb

Marriage is a three ring circus: engagement ring, wedding ring, and suffering.

When a woman steals your husband, there is no better revenge than to let her keep him.

The secret of a happy marriage remains a secret.
Henry Youngman

One good husband is worth two good wives; for the scarcer things are, the more they are valued.

Funny Marriage Poems for the speech of the Best Man or the Father of the Bride

A businessman boarded a plane to find,
Himself next to a woman, all wrinkled and lined
Wearing the largest, most stunning diamond ring
So he asked her about this most beautiful thing.

“This, why this is the Klopman diamond,” she said.
I got it on the day I was wed
It's a beautiful ring but what is worse
It carries with it a terrible curse

He asked “What's the curse that this ring has carried?
She replied “Mr. Klopman. the bastard I married"

As a new bride, Aunt Edna moved into her husband’s home.
And put a box on a shelf and told him to leave it alone

For fifty years Uncle Jack did what he was told
Until Aunt Edna was dying ...she was very old

When putting their affairs in order, the box, he found
Inside were two doilies and fifty thousand pound
Aunt Edna said the box was given by her mum and dad
"I was to make a doily each time you drove me mad"

Uncle Jack was so touched, that in half a century
"You've not been mad more than twice at me.

But the fifty thousand pound, what's that doing here?"
"It's what I earned from selling all the doilies, my dear"

Wedding Verses

The Flushing Bride
By Emily Walden Emerson

He a desk clerk, her a maid
Of a huge hotel where tourists stayed
He only saw her now and then
But he knew just how their tale should end

He tried and tried to find a time
He could ask her “Please be mine”,
When he could be on bended knee
And speak the most poetic plea
From such a classical position
Could she resist his proposition?

But she was busy, he was shy
And fast the time went by and by
Until she caught another’s eye
And he thought the second man might try

Wedding Verses

So he knew he must act fast
He’d find her now and ask at last
He searched and searched to no avail
But was determined not to fail

Then he smelled her sweet perfume
Right outside the ladies room
He took some flowers in full bloom
And went in after, to be her groom

Well she was shocked (how would you feel
To see a man approach, then kneel
While you were emptying your bladder
It would be quite an awkward matter)

“Please don’t think it too upsurd
If I could have a little word
I know my timing’s rather bad
But to lose this chance would be more sad
If you’re having trouble concentrating
I’ll wait till you’re through urinating”

“Well”, the maid said, full of dread
“If you must speak then go ahead”
So he bravely took her hand
Took a deep breath and then began

Wedding Verses

“For so long, I’ve dreamed of this
To propose and then to kiss
I know that you don’t know me well
Ask anything and I will tell
Yes there’s still so much to learn
We’ll have surprises every turn
But as I see you there, upon the throne
The sweetest frown, ever I’ve known
I’ve seen your best and smelled your worst
And still my heart it longs to burst

So take this ring it is a symbol”
She said “It looks just like a thimble.”
He said “Sorry, I had to hurry
The other man, he made me worry.”
“The other man? What nonsense utter,
That man you mean, he is my brother.”

“Your brother? That’s such a relief
But I found courage in my false belief
So here we are, and here’s the ring
Or the closest thing that I could bring
So please say yes, once and for all
Right here and now inside this stall”

Somehow, just then, the ring fell in
“Shall I reach in, or is that a sin?”
“I think it better that you not
It really wasn’t worth a lot”
Then she added, with a blush
“And I haven’t yet a chance to flush”

As you wish, but I’ve no issue
To touch your urine or your tissue
I swear I’d swim in a sea of pee
If that would make you marry me
My Lady, let your heart decide,
Would you consent to be my bride?”

“I can’t resist. That’s so romantic!
And I see that yours is quite gigantic!
I’m speaking of, of course, your heart
For it’s the most important part

Wedding Verses

So I say yes, I’ll be your bride
You’ve won me with how hard you’ve tried”
They shared a kiss, he smiled wide
For a touch of tongue she had applied

“Please carry me out, if it sounds not dumb
(It’s not for romance, my legs are numb)
One last thing, please don’t place blame
If I might ask, per chance, your name?”

And that’s the story of how they began
The Flushing Bride, and her brave, brave man
And how that day he did trap her
Then and there upon the crapper
(Yes, they lived happy, ever after)

You're here today your vows to take,

and memories of the day to make.

Now what is marriage all about?

let's see if we can figure that one out.

Always love and respect one another,

have faith and trust in each other.

To our neighbours and our friends
On your very special day;
There a few things
That we would like to say.

On this special day
Love touches two lives so sweetly,
Warms you with a gentle joy...
Makes you one completely.
To A Wonderful Couple

Wedding Verses

Two hearts to beat as one
Two souls to become as one;
Both needed to make one whole
Happiness seeping into your souls.

We wish you all the very best
On this your Wedding Day;
Keep your vows and never lie
The best advice we can say!!

You now begin the dance of life together
It doesn't matter not a jot whatever is the weather;
Life goes up and down at the best of times
The trick is making it that you both rhyme.

So listen very carefully to all advice that's given
Then make your own way and be driven;
By your desire to make each other happy
So let's get this wedding going-and get snappy!!

Wedding Verses Poems

On this day we join two hearts
That were meant to be together;
Ever since they first met
All have known it to be forever.

As I look at all the flowers
I remember the wedding day that was ours;
You said you would and yes you did
Love me truly and do as I bid.

Today our son is standing there
We can only stand and stare;
Handsome and tall waiting for her
The love of his life our new daughter.

May they be as happy as us
We've sailed through with little fuss;
May blessings and hope come from above
That they will always be full of love.
Wedding Poem from Mom & Dad

Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.
Kahlil Gibran

Wedding Verses Poems

The wedding ring is a symbol
A band of gold that circles;
One that has no end
Surrounding every obstacle.

Protection for the both
Surrounding you with love;
A promise to fulfil
Vows taken before God above.

A promise made in public
An official taking notes;
Saying words out loud
And this is what I wrote.

I do declare my love for you
I will promise to be true;
I will honor and protect
I will love only you.

You are my source of strength
My inspiration and my love;
I knew the day we met
You had fallen from above.

Today is the new beginning
For you to be my wife;
I will be your wedded husband
And love you all my life.

It's raining on the outside
But in our hearts it's bright;
As we just know everything
Is going to turn out right.

This may be the second time
That these words have been said;
But right now they mean so much
As down the aisle we're led.

Now it isn't all sweetness and light,

And I'm sure you will have the odd fight.

But it's okay to argue and fall out

As making up is what it's all about.

Add into the mix some laughter and fun

Happiness is a must, when all's said and done!

(....) and (...), you'll now be man and wife,

Our wish for you is a happy and prosdperous life

All our good wishes are sent your way.

On this, your very special day.

So we'll raise a glass, well one or two!!

And send our congratulations to the both of you.

Wedding Verses Poems

Yes, I'll marry you, my dear,

And here's the reason why;

So I can push you out of bed

When the baby starts to cry,

And if we hear a knocking

And it's creepy and it's late,

I hand you the torch you see,

And you investigate.

Yes, I'll marry you, my dear,

You may not apprehend it,

But when the tumble-drier goes

It's you that has to mend it,

You have to face the neighbour

Should our labrador attack him,

And if a drunkard fondles me

It's you that has to whack him.

Yes, I'll marry you,

You're virile and you're lean,

My house is like a pigsty

You can help to keep it clean.

That sexy little dinner

Which you served by candlelight,

As I do chipolatas,

You can cook it every night!

It's you who has to work the drill

and put up curtain track,

And when I've got PMT it's you who gets the flak,

I do see great advantages,

But none of them for you,

And so before you see the light,

I do, I do, I do!

Recipe for Love

Take a little bit of me
And a little bit of you
Add an entire future
And all that we'll go through

2 cups of loyalty
generously sprinkled with trust
A pinch of forgiveness
And laughter is a must

Blend a smile, a kiss and
Holding each others hands
Add this all together
Between a woman and a man

Stir in two hearts
Sprinkled with adoration
Stir it all together
And you get a good foundation
For Love.

I dreamed of a wedding of elaborate elegance,
A church filled with family and friends.
I asked him what kind of a wedding he wished for,
He said one that would make me his wife.

There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved
George Sands

We were very quiet sitting in the pew
We sat there and we listened as two hearts took their vows;
The pair of them we heard them say " I do"
We took extra notice so there could be no rows.

Whose turn is it anyway, I heard one of them ask
We knew eventually agreements need to be reached;
Who does what and when
As everyday chores on their lives impeach.

Agreeing what not to agree with is always a good start
It does really matter as you're talking hearts;
Relationships need working at, you have heard us say
Keeping close together so they never drift part.

Marriage Poems

I promise to give you the best of myself
and to ask of you no more than you can give.
I promise to respect you as your own person
and to realise that your interests, desires and needs
are no less important than my own.
I promise to share with you my time and my attention
and to bring joy, strength and imagination to our relationship.
I promise to keep myself open to you,
to let you see through the window of my world into my innermost fears
and feelings, secrets and dreams.
I promise to grow along with you,
to be willing to face changes in order to keep our relationship alive and exciting.
I promise to love you in good times and in bad,
with all I have to give and all I feel inside in the only way I know how.
Completely and forever.
Dorothy R Colgan
